I'm curious as to what you use to navigate when in Europe.

I have a TomTom GO LIVE 1005 Europe - Car navigation - TomTom and it is pretty awesome, huge screen and the software is so easy to use and fast too. Only downside I have found is the 'Services' eg; Traffic and weather etc do not work in all countries.

Ive driven across about 20 countries and its been so dependable.

    So, what do you use?

My dad has a Garmin navigation thing that we'll occasionally use on road trips if he's driving.

I'm still a fan of maps, though. Every time I've used a TomTom or whatever, the onscreen map always seems too short-sighted, I guess. It focuses in too much on where you are right now and not where you're going. A map gives me a better sense of where I am in relation to my ultimate destination.

And if I make a wrong turn, it doesn't nag me.

I use google maps on my HTC evo for most of my GPS traveling needs. It works in several different countries and it doesn't cost me an extra penny. If you don't have internet on your phone when traveling you can download the maps before you leave home.

I actually never thought of using GPS and maps on my Android Samsung Glaaxy Ace, that will actually come in pretty hand when on foot in unknown locations, i normally lug the Sat Nav around with me.
