Hello,

So as the title indicates I would like to plan a trip to Paris this year.
I plan to go for 2 weeks, ideally it would be from Dec. 21, 2012 to Jan. 4, 2013
it would be my girlfriend and I, but I would be paying for everything... so that's why I'm here.

For those that have traveled there, travel there often, or travel to Europe on occasion,
What should I expect to pay for plane tickets, and hotel reservations?

In my head I figured it will be about $5,000 USD for plane tickets (2,500 a piece flying out from DC) and maybe another 3,000 for the hotel stay (approx 200 a night for 14 nights). Are these numbers close to what I might expect to pay? I know there is still a long, long time to go, but I would just like to plan ahead, and see if it's a realistic possibility on my budget. How much money should I save up for the trip? Rough numbers are fine as I don't expect anything concrete with so much time to go.

I know it will depend on how much I will plan to spend there on food, shopping, museums, attractions etc.. but in reality I planned to have about $15,000 USD saved up by then. Would this be enough for a trip for 2 to Paris for 2 weeks? People that have gone before, how much have you spent?

Any information would be awesome!
I have never traveled outside of North America, so I'm pretty excited about going. But I know it's an expensive trip so any input would be greatly appreciated.
